Stripping for Donuts
A couple weeks ago I got a text from my friend Kay and she asked "Would you like to be a male stripper at a bachelorette party?"
It was a strange request to be sure, mostly because I don't have the traditional look of a male stripper but crazy drunk women fawning over me? How could I say no?
I was kind of nervous, I wasn't sure what I would be doing or how much of my clothes I would need to remove, also would these women be so overcome with lust that they would just attack me? These are real issues I had to consider.
The plan was to take a box of donuts in the room and then be the entertainment. I got my donuts and met Kay in the hallway, I had a stuffed donut that I was trying to have coming out of my pants. When Kay say that she said "Oh we don't really want you to take any clothes off. There are a couple young teens in the room."
That kind of cleared up everything but when I approached Summer, the bride, I still went with my line "hey, you want something cream stuffed?"
Summer was sitting in a chair with her back to me and eyes covered. She didn't look to excited but looking down at me feet she noticed my Homer Simpson donut socks when she realized it was me.
She jumped up and gave me a giant hung and said "Oh God, I almost lost my appetite."
It turns out it was a joke Kay wanted to play on Summer because she knew she'd hate having a male stripper.
So, if there is a market for male strippers that you send to a bachelorette party as a joke where you have to explain to them to keep their clothes on because there are kids present and make the bride lose their appetite then I may have a bright future ahead of me. MILE 22
I got pretty excited for Mile 22 when I noticed Iko Uwais was in it. It took what looked like a typical pedestrian action movie and moved it up a notch.
If you don't know, Iko Uwais is the star of the Raid movies. They are pretty brutal hardcore action movies from Indonesia where the deaths are pretty graphic and creative. You winch in pain at the same time as you think, "that was pretty clever guys!" Personally I'd say they are best action movies of the decade.
As for Mile 22. It was good and you could tell it was influenced by the Raid. And that may have been my problem. It was a little to influenced by the Raid. The plots are similar and there was a few death scenes that were taken right out of the Raid. Does Mile 22 deserve all the negative press and feedback I had been hearing? No, it was a good action movie. Really enjoyable. But if you had to pick between Mile 22 and the Raid then of course watch the Raid.
