Post 19 Unspoken, Lego DC Super Villains, Daredevil season 3, Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIX

Unspoken

Christian's movie Unspoken wrapped up this week! I am not going to tell you what part to jump to if you want to see me because you should watch the entire thing, he did a great job. But it is safe to say that I am about to become a sex symbol in America. Also, I wrote my own lines!

Me becoming a sex sympol

Lego DC Super Villains

I am sucker for these Lego games, plus one devoted to only playing as the bad guys, that's a recipe for success in my book! To celebrate wrapping up two more classes I picked this up.

Lego DC Super-Villains

The game begins and it forces you to create your own Lego Villain. Every Lego game has a character creation page but this is the first one where it was mandatory. I did my best to create a Lego version of Marvel's greatest villain Baron Zemo.

Baron Zemo

The game is classic Lego games, if you played them in the past you know what you're getting into. There are a few new elements that are tossed in but the Lego gameplay is pretty perfect so it doesn't need a lot of tweaking and improving.

Being the DC animation/ Bruce Timm geek that I am I mostly get a kick out of hearing all the old voice actors in their roles.

Of course Kevin Conroy returned as Batman, Clancy Brown returns as Lex Luthor, and like a band coming out of retirement for the 5th time, Mark Hamill returns as the Joker (which is fine in my book because the casting of these characters was nailed).

I was also happy to hear Susan Eisenberg return as Wonder Woman, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Johs Keaton as Green Lantern. And I haven't unlocked them yet but Micheal Ironside as Darksied and Gilbert Gottried as Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Sadly, Ron Pearlman and George Newborn couldn't return as Clayface and Superman.

Daredevil Season 3

I planned on being lazy this weekend and as fate would have it, Daredevil Season 3 dropped at the same time. I spent most of the day on Sunday absorbing it, I only got to episode 9 but I have a feeling Matt Murdock is going to be needing this shirt.

Daredevil

This season focus on Kingpin reclaiming his criminal empire but a major focus has been the introduction of Bullseye. As one of the greatest Daredevil foes and one of Marvel's best characters I am surprised it took so long to finally see him but it has been worth the wait. This Bullseye isn't the cartoon that Colin Farrell played in the Daredevil movie but a scary and tragic character.

I love almost everything about this show and it is turning out to be one of Marvel's best Netflix shows.

Vincent D'onofrio's Kingpin is so Machiavellian that there times I forget he's supposed to be a bad guy! And how does Charlie Cox fight with a blindfold over his face. This show is impressive for a number of reasons.

Daredevil Season 3

Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIX

I took a break from Daredevil to watch the latest Treehouse of Horror. The annual Treehouse of horror has always been a bit of an event in the Simpsons world because the writers and staff can let loose and do anything they want. This idea led them to create the much beloved Futurama.

Treehouse of Horror XXIX

The first segment was a Simpsons version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and it was strange, the passing felt rushed. I know the writers have to fit everything into 6 minutes or so but the show used to be able to condense The Shinning or Bram Stokers Dracula perfectly but this one just left me confused. Lisa, Bart and Milhouse see Comic Book Guy turned into a plant creature and the run home to say that everyone has been turned into zombie, how did they come to that conclusion? They scream this at Homer who just begins to drool, he's not a pod person but why was he drooling? Was he choking? At which point they run to Marge who is a plant person and Maggie quickly kills with a shovel. Lisa says "Wow you have a lot of pent of rage against mom." What? Why? Because she was plant person? This episode didn't make any sense.

The second segment was a remake of the movie Split. Lisa takes on the lead roll of Kevin Wendell Crumb / The Horde, the writers say the love writing for Lisa, which is why we so so many Lisa episodes but I think it's secretly because Lisa only voices on character and Fox needs to make sure she's working just as much as Dan Castellaneta or Hank Azaria.

It was a fine segment overall but did we need a segment based off of Split? I don't see that movie having the relevance as others they have picked. It was just an odd choice to me. See now what I think they should have done is a segment on the movie Get Out and the Chris Washington character could be Apu and it could be about how he...

Sorry

Oh, yeah. Never mind.

The last one was the best of the three, it was based off Jurassic Park, Mr. Burns would take dinosaur DNA inject it into all the elderly characters and to make them feel young again but they mutate into Dinosaur creatures and start attacking and killing people. The best joke was Mr. Burns talking about the giant Jurassic Park doors and Lisa asks "Why would you need giant doors if you have to fly to the island in a helicopter. It's a funny joke at Jurassic Park I had considered.

So this Tree House of Horror had some funny moments but it was a far cry from their best.

Classic
