Homer's Coffee Shop
After work on Friday I got in my car and headed to Kansas City to see Lauryn preform at Homer's Coffee Shop. Driving to Kansas City from Des Moines is really gorgeous! Seeing all the leaves change made me feel like I was driving in a Bob Ross painting.
Sorry for the blurry pictures, I wish they could've been better ones but I was driving and didn't want to turn into Toonces The Cat. Google that if you don't get the reference.
I know I've gushed about Lauryn before but even being her uncle I am still impressed. One woman saw her perform in September and came out to see her again, another woman was recording her and asking who she was and how old and so on and so on. After I saw her take a picture of the marque to see more of her music I just gave her a card, told her she was my niece and said " I taught her everything she knows." That might be a lie but it still impressed her.
She has a killer set list, some originals along with covers of a few of my favorite songs "Never Been to Spain" by Three Dog Night." and "Rich Girl" by Hall and Oates. Her version of that was my favorite part of the evening because not only did she knock that song out of the park but also looked to her mom when she sang the word bitch to make sure she didn't get into trouble!

Finally you can't stop in KC with out a Steak and Shake Pitstop!
Spooky Paw's Dog Parade
Sunday was the Spooky Paw's Dog Parade and the weather was perfect for it!
Taylor and I got our dogs and headed out
Fonzie went dressed in her amazing Vampire Shark costume and I went as Fonzie.
Fonzie's costume fell off and Rufus was having trouble with the leash (he's still a baby) so we mostly sat on the sidelines and watched. It was worth the trip because those costumes were the cat's meow!
The Dog Ross may have been my favorite! I didn't get a very good picture but her owner was carrying around an easel of paint.
We also saw another Bugg dressed as Darth Vader!
I had a great time and it's becoming my favorite Halloween tradition.
Now's a great time to tell you about my new podcast Dogs I Saw. The podcast dedicated to seeing and rating dogs.

I will end this talk of Halloween with the greatest Halloween costume ever to be costumed!
And with that we bid adieu to October and say Hello to November which is will be epic.
